30 Days of Me (3) – Me and my friends

Today it’s supposed to be a photo of me and my friends. Since I have kind of two lives (my previous life in Germany and my current one in New Zealand), I have two very different sets of friends. Those far away, and those near by. The first picture was taken on the day we left Germany. Most people who were important to us at that time were able to make it to Düsseldorf Airport at a very early hour (can’t remember what time it was, maybe something around 6am?) to wave us good-bye. That was a pretty moving moment and still gives me shivers when I think about it…

When it comes to photos of NZ friends and myself, I have the same problem I have with pictures of me: I just don’t have any. Surprisingly I don’t even have many group photos of my friends, most pictures are individuals smiling at the camera in front of different backgrounds. So I shamelessly stole this picture from my friend JJ’s Facebook profile (and I hope she’ll allow me to keep it here), I think it’s a good enough fulfillment for todays promt. It was taken last New Year’s Eve – Simon, me, my lovely husband Kai and JJ, who is currently in the UK and who I miss very much.

30 Days of Me (3) – Diane und ihre Freunde

Heute soll ich ein Foto von mir und meinen Freunden posten. Da ich quasi zwei Leben habe (ein “früheres” Leben und Deutschland und mein derzeitiges in Neuseeland) habe ich zwei verschiedene “Sets” von Freunden – Freunde nah und Freunde fern. Das erste Foto ist von unserem Abschied von Deutschland. Die meisten Leute die uns zu dieser Zeit sehr am Herzen lagen hatten sich in aller Frühe (ich glaube es war gegen 6 Uhr morgens) aufgerafft, um uns am Düsseldorfer Flughafen zu verabschieden. Das war ein ziemlich bewegender Moment, und ich bekomme immer noch Gänsehaut, wenn ich daran denke.

Bei Fotos von Freunden und mir in Neuseeeland habe ich das selbe Problem das ich auch mit Fotos von mir habe: ich besitze keine. Erstaunlicherweise habe ich nicht einmal viele Gruppenfotos von Freunden, die meisten meiner Bilder zeigen Individuen, die vor verschiedenen Hintergründen in die Kamera lächeln. Also habe ich ganz einfach ein Foto von JJs Facebook Profil geklaut (und hoffe dass sie es mich hier behalten lässt), ich denke es ist gut genug um die heutige Herausforderung zu erfüllen. Es wurde letztes Silvester aufgenommen und zeigt Simon, mich, den allerbesten Ehemann aller Zeiten (Kai) und JJ, die im Moment in England ist und die ich sehr vermisse.
