Update

Nachdem Cathy sich im Kommentar zum letzten Blogeintrag so bitterboese beschwert hat, gibt es heute mal ein kleines Update und eine Erklaerung, warum wir uns so lang schon nicht mehr gemeldet haben. Viele, viele Dinge sind in den letzten Wochen passiert, zu den zeitaufwaendigsten gehoerte sicher mein Bewerbungsverfahren und mein neuer Job. Spaetestens ab 20. Oktober (gern frueher, wenn mein Chef mich gehen laesst) arbeite ich fuer das Agrar- und Forstwirtschaftsministerium als Web Content Editor. Es hat natuerlich einiges an Zeit gekostet, die Bewerbungsunterlagen bestmoeglich vorzubereiten, mich auf diverse Treffen mit meiner zukuenftigen Teamleiterin und auf das eigentliche Bewerbungsgespraech zu konzentrieren. Ausserdem habe ich mir ein iPhone gegoennt, das war auch mit erheblichem Aufwand verbunden – die Details erspare ich mir hier mal besser, sonst werde ich nur wieder aggressive. Ausserdem sind unsere aus Deutschland verschifften Boxen in der letzten Woche hier angekommen und von da an hiess es “Auspacken, Umpacken, Einpacken” und sich um diverse Vertriebskanaele kuemmern, um einiges an Sachen auch wieder loszuwerden. Schliesslich war die grosse Verschiffungsaktion nicht fuer dieses Jahr geplant und so kurzfristig wie alles organisiert werden musste, haben wir viel mehr Zeug mitgenommen, als wir eigentlich wollten. Aber so langsam kriegen wir alles in den Griff. Seit ein paar Tagen haelt auch tatsaechlich der Fruehling kraeftig Einzug in Wellington – die Sonne scheint, man kann frische Waesche wieder draussen trocknen und das Spazierengehen am Meer (heute mit Peggy, Fabrice, Amber und Lila) macht mit Eis in der Hand wieder doppelt so viel Spass. Wellington ist toll!

Here’s a quick updated on how we’re doing and why we’re not blogging lately (after Cathy complained about the lack of blog entries in last entry’s comment). Heaps has happened during the last couple of weeks, one of the most time consuming being the way from “reading the ad” until I got my new job. Yep, from 20 October (or earlier, if my boss let’s me leave earlier) I’ll be working for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) as Web Content Editor. It took ages to prepare my application and to focus on coffee meetings with my future team leader and the actual interview – but I’ve made it and can’t wait to get started! Additionally I got myself an iPhone, which was kind of a mission with Vodafone NZ and finally our boxes from Germany arrived at our place. We’ve spent heaps of time unpacking, unwrapping, placing and trying to explore ways of getting rid of some stuff again, because the whole event was not planned to take place right now, and after organising the container in a hurry while we were in Germany, we had to take more stuff down here than we would have if we had had proper time to take care of everything. But now the stuff is here, it’s all good. And since a few days there’s a spring like feeling in the air in Wellington – the sun is shining, the laundry dries in the light air in the garden and walking at the waterfront (today with Peggy, Fabrice, Amber and Lila) is twice as fun with an ice cream in the hand. I love Wellington!
